How does the UNYQ BRACE™ work?

Ultimately, bracing is about minimizing the progression of curvature. That requires some level of immobility through applied pressure. However, that no longer has to mean thick, heavy, uncomfortable, sweaty plastic!

Utilizing proven treatment methodologies and 3D scanning, the patented UNYQ BRACE™ fits better and is easier for the clinician to make pressure adjustments throughout treatment. It is the lightest brace on the market, yet still achieves the gold standard rigidity of Thoracic Lumbar Sacral Orthosis (TLSO) bracing. The UNYQ BRACE™ stylish lattice design increases comfort by enabling air circulation.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Once prescribed, we will need the physician’s notes and your child’s most recent X-rays. The UNYQ BRACE™ process itself consists of two appointments. In the first appointment, a UNYQ representative will take a 3D scan and measurements of your child’s exact anatomical measurements. Somewhat similar to an airport scanning process, the patient will stand with arms out for just a few minutes.

Next, an in-house Orthotist will modify the scan into a correct position based on your child’s X-rays, scan, and the measurement information. The end result is a made-to-fit, 3D-printed, high-performance polyamide brace. It usually takes 2-3 weeks to design and print the brace.

During the first fitting and subsequent appointments, the clinician will make quick adjustments using your child’s exact, prescribed pressure specifications. Your child’s growth will change the fit and correction needed over time.

TREATMENT PROCESS

Talk to your child’s clinician about the UNYQ BRACE™. Once you select UNYQ, your child will be scheduled for a 3D scan. The scan is uploaded to UNYQ where a 3D-printed, high-performance polyamide brace is made-to-fit.

On the first and subsequent appointments, after the brace arrives, the clinician will make quick adjustments using your child’s exact, prescribed pressure specifications. Your child’s growth will change the fit and correction is needed over time.

HOW DO OUR BRACES COMPARE?

Traditional braces are heavy, unyielding and often cause a significant amount of discomfort and sweating. HOW DO WE MAKE OUR BRACES?

The UNYQ BRACE™ uses advanced digital manufacturing to 3D print a high performance, polyamide brace with a breathable, lattice design. Velcro closures and padding are added to enable the perfect pressure-sensitive fit and comfort.
